Specialization Area Exam
The Specialization Area Exam (SAE) will be the second of two required Area Exams for doctoral students in EN/FS, and will be aimed at preparing students in a focused area of specialization for teaching and research. The SAE reading list of 70-80 texts will cover, in-depth, both the canonical and non-canonical
texts in a field necessary for the student’s dissertation work.
Prerequisite: A passing grade on the Comprehensive Area Exam.
